Goessel’s annual Threshing Days will be Aug. 4 through 6.

The Wichita band Haymakers will headline Goessel’s annual Threshing Days. The band will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 in the high school auditorium. The band describes its music as “quality Kansas jam.”

Band members are Dustin Arbuckle, vocals and harmonica; Thomas Page, guitar and harmony vocals; Dennis Hardin, mandolin and harmony vocals; and Caleb Drummond, upright bass and harmony vocals.

Haymakers recorded a 10-track live disc, “Live at Art Church,” in 2021.

German food, including cheese-filled verenika dumplings with ham gravy, German country sausage, zwieback pudding, cherry moos, bierock stuffed rolls, New Year’s cookies, and cole slaw will be served at 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 5 at Wheat Hall.

Barbecue beef sandwiches, bierocks, chips, monster cookies, New Year’s cookies, and beverages will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 5 at the 1906 Prep School on the museum grounds.

On Aug. 4, entertainment will include sawmill demonstrations, large engine start-ups, threshing demonstrations, and field demonstrations of corn binding, shelling, cutting, and plowing.

Aug. 5 will include breakfast at the Wheat Hall from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m.; a parade on Main St. at 9:30 a.m.; a kiddie barnyard petting zoo in Schroeder Barn and children’s activities at Uncle Milt’s Shed from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; threshing demonstrations at 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., and 3 p.m.; field demonstrations at 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.; prairie tractor start-up at 12:30 p.m.; draft horse, sawmill and blacksmith demonstrations all afternoon; pedal tractor pull and large engine start-ups at 2 p.m.; and supper in the Wheat Hall from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Sunday entertainment will include breakfast at the Wheat Hall from 7 to 9 a.m. followed by worship service at 9:30 p.m., Sunday dinner at 11 a.m., children’s activities in Uncle Milt’s Shed from 12:30 to 3 p.m., and prairie tractor and large engines start-up, and sawmill, threshing, and field demonstrations from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Admission costs $5 for ages 13 and older.
