Timothy Herman

Timothy L. Herman, 52, of Hays died Sept. 24 at his home. He was born July 20, 1961, in Wakeeney to Ervin “Sunny” and Ramona “Dolly” (Groff) herman.

He was a 1979 graduate of Thomas More Prep High School-Marian in Hays. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala for two years.

He married Maria M. Abrego on March 4, 1989, in Guatemala. He worked for Sprint in Kansas City and for a computer chip company in California.

He is survived by his parents Sunny and Dolly; his wife, Maria; a son, Benjamin Herman of Kansas City, Mo.; two daughters, Amy Vaughn of Fayetteville, Ark., and Jennifer Herman of Kansas City; a brother, Mark Herman of Hays; and two sisters, Rose M. Davidson of Marion and Michelle Herman of Kansas City.

He was preceded in death by a brother, David R. Herman.

Funeral services were Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. Inurnment with military honors was Monday at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ellis.
