Traffic detoured for street work

Traffic on the 100 block of S. 3rd. St. will be detoured Monday through Friday while city crews repair damaged pavement.

Pavement on the south side of the intersection of Main and 3rd Sts. is crumbling from the weight of heavy vehicles passing on the roadway. A pothole south of the crosswalk has become deeper and wider.

City administrator Roger Holter said vehicles would be detoured east along Williams to 4th Sts. and west along Water to 1st Sts.

Holter said city crews anticipate completing work and having the intersection open by Friday afternoon.
