Hillsboro police believe that two vehicle burglaries that were reported last week may be related.
Chief Dan Kinning said a 13-inch television and dash-mount computer display were stolen from an unlocked RV parked in the driveway of 105 S. Ash St. sometime last week.
Less than three blocks away, a car stereo was stolen from a vehicle at 103 W. B St. sometime Jan. 11. Kinning said a key also was broken off in the ignition.
“They were both reported the same day but may not have happened on the same day,” Kinning said. “It’s likely that they both happened at night and are probably related. It would make sense. They’re not too far apart.”
Suspects have been identified, and the perpetrator is likely a person police have had frequent contact with on similar types of incidents, Kinning said.
