Vernon L. Vogel, 81, passed away March 24 at Marion Assisted Living.

He was born Sept. 4, 1929, the only son of Ezra and Katherine (Mohn) Vogel.

He graduated from Marion High School in the class of 1947. He was a farmer and stockman. He was also very active in the Kansas Flying Farmers.

In 1956, he married Geraldine Moulds. She preceded him in death in 1985. Later he was married to Madelyn (Bricker) Henkle. She also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son Greg and wife Dina Vogel of Marion and three grandchildren: Jessica, Jonathon, and Jeremy.

Visitation was Tuesday at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Services are 2 p.m. today at Strassburg Baptist Church with interment at Marion Cemetery.
