Vickie Huxman

Services for Vickie Lynn (Youk) Huxman, 69, who died May 2 at Newton Presbyterian Manor, will be 2 p.m. May 18 at Newton Christian Church.

Chaplin Greg Schmidt will officiate. Relatives will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.

Born Feb. 17, 1954, in Goessel to Leland and Lorene Youk, she graduated in 1972 from Marion High School.

She married Bruce Martens that year and in 1998 married Doug Huxman.

A lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, she taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

Her parents, stepfather Harry Laubhan, sisters Carolyn Schmidt and Linda Shaw, and brother Gaylen Youk preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband; daughter Jenny Driscoll; son Jason Martens; stepsons Chris Huxman and Brian Huxman; sisters Shirley Carstens, Margie Geisler, Sharon Kelsey, and Laurie Koslowsky; two grandsons, and a great-granddaughter.

Memorials have been established with Zion Lutheran Church and St. Jude Hospital.
