Victoria Box
Victoria Sue Box’s life began July 2, 1952, in Florence.
Box, 68, is the daughter of Donald Niles Depler and Wavo Marie (Dover) Depler.
Victoria was a 1970 graduate of Florence High School.
She married the love of her life, Mike Box, on June 1, 1974, in Florence.
Victoria retired from Marion Elementary School after a decade of service and had also worked for the meat locker and the old funeral home in Florence.
She was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Leader for her children for 13 years.
Family was the most important thing to Victoria and she loved family getting together anytime they could.
She was a talented cake decorator and especially enjoyed making her grandchildren’s birthday cakes.
One of her dearest family traditions was the family pilgrimage, started by her father, to the Kansas State Fair and packing a fried chicken lunch to enjoy with her children and extended family.
This loving family she cared so deeply for includes her husband of 45 years, Mike Box of Florence; children Donna (Jeff) Raderstorf of Norwich, Connecticut, Mike (Nicole) Box of Salina, and Joe (Sharon) Box of Florence; grandchildren Dalton (Colleen) Raderstorf, Michael Raderstorf, Hunter (Kelsi) Box, Kadyn Box, Annie Box, Emma Box, Gracie Mackey, Ella Mackey-Box, Ava Box, and Kaylie Box; great-grandchildren Rhyanne Box, Skylar Box and baby Mac Box; siblings Garry Depler, Ricky (Linda) Depler, Linda (Charlie) Fisher, and Daniel Depler; sister-in-law Linda M. Depler; and several nieces and nephews.
Victoria passed away on January 24, 2020, at Peabody Health and Rehab.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Harvey Depler.
Her family will gather with friends on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at 11 a.m. for her memorial service at the Florence Christian Church led by the Rev. Steve Hysom.
