For the season, Lauryn Vogt leads the team, averaging four kills per set, 228 total. Talia Jost has racked up 50 blocks and 32 aces. Amyah Werth is averaging 6.4 digs per set, of 363 total.

Hillsboro (19-5) will hit the road Tuesday against Smokey Valley (9-11).

Goessel

The Bluebirds came home with second place after a round robin tournament at Olpe.

Goessel started strong, defeating Northern Heights 25-19, 25-4. The Bluebirds’ only loss was a hard-fought match against Wabaunsee, 19-25, 31-29, 20-25.

Goessel picked up three victories to finish the day but had to go three sets in two of those matches.

The Bluebirds defeated Bishop Seabury 17-25, 25-18, 25-18, then dominated Madison 25-15, 25-12, and finished the day beating Olpe, 25-21, 24-26, 25-20.

Goessel (14-6) will compete Saturday in a tournament at Canton-Galva.

Centre

The Cougars lost Saturday at Herington to Canton-Galva and Rural Vista but defeated Hutchinson Trinity, all in straight sets.

“We are working on getting better each day as we continue with our last three games in regular-season league play,” coach Amy Finch said. “We are excited for the opportunity to continue to improve ourselves against quality teams and gain more experience for our younger players.”

Centre and Peabody-Burns played Tuesday night. Centre’s next games will be next Tuesday against Goessel and Elyria Christian.

Peabody-Burns

The Warriors lost Saturday at Wakefield to Blue Valley, Clifton-Clyde, and Republic County but defeated Flint Hills Christian.

“Our first two matches, we made some adjustments and ran a new rotation for the last two,” coach Clarissa Dutton said. “I think it paid off overall. We started to see a stronger setter / hitter connection and some good improvements on the court.”

Dutton said she was excited to see how her team would continue to grow the rest of the season.

Peabody-Burns played Centre Tuesday night and will do so again next Tuesday while also competing against Goessel and Elyria Christian.

Marion

The Warriors did not have any matches over the weekend.
