SENIOR CENTER:   Warneke set to grill burgers twice in October

Marion Senior Center

Harlow Warneke is scheduled to grill hamburgers twice on the Marion Senior Center menu. He will be grilling burgers Oct. 16 and 30.

The newsletter crew was at the senior center Sept. 28, including Nora Richter, Mary Hett, Elsie Reiswig, Pat Busey, Larry and Barb Smith, Evelyn Jewett, Shirley Bowers, Irmagene Goodman, and Al and Gloria Ash. Those interested in being on the mailing list may call the senior center.

Sue Clough called from Gillette, Wyoming, taking a break from her duties as senior center president.

Lanell Hett went to see Fred Puttroff at Newton Medical Center and said his outlook is very positive.

The Brubakers brought in tomatoes, cucumbers, and neck pumpkins. A recipe for pumpkin pie also was provided.

Lindsay Miller of the American Red Cross gave a presentation Sept. 30 and Mary Rogers, Estelle McCarty, Jerry Higgins, Larry and Thelma Blosser, Warren Smith, Jean Pierce and Irmagene Goodman won prizes.

The public is welcome to come today to the senior center for a program on hospice care.

Flu shots will be given at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the senior center.
