Warrior track team competes at Beloit

The Marion High School track team was in action Friday, competing at the Beloit Relays.

Outside of Tyler Palic setting a meet record in discus with a throw of 172 feet, 11 inches for first place, along with personal bests in shot put and javelin, the Warrior teams found the going tough.

Palic added a silver medal to his day with a heave of 50’ 1-1/2” in shot put as well as fourth-place throw of 163’ 7” in javelin.

In boys’ high jump, Noah Dalrymple cleared 5’ 10” for fifth place, while Austin Neufeld vaulted 11’ 6” for fifth.

Jack Schneider returned to action after being sidelined with injuries, running 100 meters in a second-place time of :11.69 to round out the Warrior boys’ placing in competition.

The girls team mustered four top-six finishers, highlighted by the 4x100 meter relay team of Sam Richmond, Anne Baliel, Maria Stuchlik, and Emmy Hess’ season-best time of 53.61 for second place.

Abigail Stuchlik replaced Hess in the 4x400 and Marion raced to a fifth-place finish in 4:32.65.

Hess and Richmond each finished sixth with Hess leaping 14’ 8-1/2” in long jump and Richmond 4’ 4” in high jump.

On deck for the Warriors this week will be Thursday’s Hesston Invitational with action scheduled for 4 p.m.
