Warriors lose to Teutons

Staff writer

Marion took two losses Friday at Inman, a close match between the girls and a distant runaway for the boys.

The lady Warriors lost to Inman 50-45, making up the Teuton’s head start of 21 points but not quite surpassing it by the final quarter.

A lot of the catching up was helped by Inman’s fouls, almost all of which Marion converted into points. Their own fouls gave Inman enough leverage to overcome them. Top players were Grace Hett with 17 points and Jayden May with 13 points.

Their next game will be noon Friday at Elyria Christian in McPherson.

Marion boys lost to Inman 85-15 after getting off to a 29-5 deficit in the first quarter. Marion was scoreless with a running clock in the fourth quarter.

Inman avoided fouls while a series of fouls hurt Marion.

Marion’s top player was Jack Lanning with nine points. Only two other players scored.

The team’s final game of the regular season will be Tuesday at Sedgwick.
