Warriors runners earn personal records

Pushing themselves under favorable running conditions, all Warriors who ran at Halstead onThursday came home with personal season records.

“I know the cooler weather really helped our runners,” coach Dmitry Bucklin said. “The course is also really nice for the runner, slight up hill and down hills, but mostly flat, in the running world we call them PR courses.”

Emily Hague placed 18th in a high school girls’ 5K race at 22 minutes, 24 seconds. Colin Williams was 29th in a varsity boys’ 5K race at 18:41.

Devin Regnier also beat his last personal record by 60 seconds, Bucklin said.

Top junior varsity runners Meggan Frese placed 5th in a girls’ 5K and Ethan Darnall was 15th for the boys.

Heidi Grimmett placed first among seventh grade girls in a 1-mile race and Cross Brown was sixth among seventh grade boys, while Colton Boudreaux was ninth in an eighth grade boys’ 2-mile race.
