WEDDINGS: Shipman-Cyr exchange vows

Dainne Reanne Shipman of Florence and James Edward Cyr of Marion were united in a double-ring ceremony July 25, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Holy Family Parish, Florence with Father Hien Nguyen officiating.

Don and Deb Shipman of Florence and Carl Cyr of McPherson and the late Anne Cyr are the couple’s parents.

Rose Davidson of Marion was organist with vocalist Jay Smith of Marion.

The father of the bride escorted his daughter in a solid white satin a-line dress with a split-front overskirt, embroidery, and chapel-length train. The dress was accented with a black sash. She carried red roses and black magic roses.

Andi Parmley of Great Bend was her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Emily Cyr, daughter of the groom, Michelle Baldwin, and Traci Helmer of Marion; and Jenna Henrickson of Ellis, a cousin of the bride.

They wore long, black chiffon dresses with beaded, empire waists and spaghetti straps. They carried a single red rose.

Best man was Matthew Powers of Marion. Groomsmen were Nathan Cyr, son of the groom; Alan Meisinger and Scott Dalrymple of Marion; and Jared Sardou of Benton.

Jerod Shipman of Florence, brother of the bride, and Brandon Patry of Valley Center, cousin of the groom, were ushers.

Megan Thomas of Marion was guest book attendant. Leah Schmidt and Bridget Lundy of Marion were in charge of gifts.

A reception followed the ceremony at Doyle Creek Corral, Florence. Reception attendants were Susan Henrickson of Ellis; Sharon Hess of Hillsboro; and Becky Savage, Julie Crayton, and Darla Wyss of Florence, aunts of the bride.

The couple traveled to Branson for their honeymoon.

The bride is a Marion High School graduate and is employed as a teller and bookkeeper at Tampa State Bank, Marion.

Her husband also graduated from Marion High School and is a parts specialist at William’s Service, Florence.

The couple live in Florence.
