William R. “Bill” Jacobs, 69, died Tuesday at Manor Care in Wichita.
A graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton.
He was born Sept. 15, 1947, to William and Frances (Haas) Jacobs in Danville, Virginia.
He graduated from Kansas State University, served in the Air Force, and was a retired geologist.
He collected rocks, played pool, and crocheted.
He survived by children Andrew Jacobs, Jeremiah Jacobs, and Jennifer Jacobs; brother, Charles Jacobs; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial has been established for the Avenue of Flags at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
