Willard Hett

Willard Wayne Hett of Marion died Feb. 3 at St. Luke Living Center. He was born May 1, 1939, in Hillsboro to Ron and Ruby (Just) Hett.

He grew up on the family farm in rural Marion and attended Aulne United Methodist Church with his family. He graduated from Marion High School in 1957.

He married Alvina Brandt on July 28, 1962, in Reedley, Calif., and joined Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church.

He worked selling seed, raising hogs, and working the fields, later starting a custom wheat harvesting business.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Alvina. He later began a relationship with Alberta Pritz, who also preceded him in death.

He is survived by three sons, Alan and Donald of Marion and Neil of Peabody; a daughter, Barbara Alleven of Marion; four siblings, Clifford of Peabody, Alice Nellans of Peabody, Janie Meierhoff of Marion, and Louise Whiteman of Marion; 11 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.

Visitation was Sunday at Zeiner Funeral Home. A memorial service was Monday at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church. A memorial fund has been established with Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church Memorial Fund.
