Woman to recount life as cowboy
Bobbie Hammond, still an active rancher at age 83, will share her life story of being a professional barrel racer and managing 25,000 acres of Flint Hills grass and 8,000 head of cattle in a free presentation, “Cowboyin’ is Women’s Work,” at 2 p.m. Oct. 8 at Pioneer Bluffs near Matfield Green.
