Boys’ and girls’ wrestling teams from Marion and Hillsboro competed Friday and Saturday at Herington.
On the girls’ side Friday, Hillsboro placed sixth out of 12 teams, and Marion placed ninth.
Saturday, Hillsboro’s boys placed 10th out of 16, and Marion’s boys placed 15th.
“We are excited to get the season back underway after Christmas break,” Hillsboro coach Scott O’Hare said. “We have a very busy schedule ahead in the month of January and hope to continue to get our wrestlers a lot of quality competition and additional experience.
There are challenges, however.
“Coming back from Christmas break is always a challenge,” Marion coach Tyler McMichael said. “Conditioning is one of the biggest issues that we always run into.
“I was very proud of the aggressive wrestling that we did this weekend, and I would like for that to continue moving through the last part of our season.”
The Warriors and the Trojans will be back in action Friday and Saturday at Halstead.
It will be similar to this past weekend, with girls on Friday and boys on Saturday.
