Wrestlers finish 14th at Halstead
While the Marion wrestling team is down in numbers with only five healthy competitors, quality over quantity has been a factor.
The Warriors snagged 14th place out of 21 schools at the Halstead Invitational Friday and Saturday with 51 points.
Remington edged Douglass for first place by a 147-143½ score.
Three of four Warriors finished sixth or higher for medals.
Forest Slater, an ever- improving 106-pound sophomore, was 2-3 over the weekend, capturing sixth place.
Will Alleven closed out the tournament at 2-2.
Todd Palic posted the best finish, taking second place going 3-1 with just two matches wrestled.
Luke Lanning finished 3-2 for fifth place.
While the rest of the Warriors were in action at Halstead, Charlie Nordquist was close by in Newton, competing at the Tournament of Champions, going 2-2.
