Young bowler wins scholarship
Luke Steele won a $150 scholarship Sunday at the Junction City Bowl Scholarship Tournament.
He was one of four bowlers from youth league bowling at SherBowl Lanes in Marion who went to the tournament.
All four Marion bowlers were in the 11-and-older category.
Steele placed third in the boys’ division with a six-game score of 1,486, and Devin Hamm placed 20th with a score of 1,221. Shyla Harris placed fifth in the girls’ division with a score of 1,364, and Jayden Hallowell placed 20th with a score of 1,189. All four bowlers’ scores were above average.
The bowlers were accompanied by coach John Brewer and Dan Sherbert and Danyal and Travis Hamm.
