Our village celebrations such as events at the sports complex, Chingawassa Days, Old Settlers’ Day, Art in the Park, etc., could show attention to environmental responsibility by providing recycling barrels for water bottles and aluminum cans. Most events in larger cities do this.
Civic pride in Marion would be off the charts if all registered voters used that privilege the next time. We’d make headlines!
Will anyone ever make a difference in this community? We have lived here for six years and each day I see the same shameful sights. The entrances to our city are deplorable. I was embarrassed when the baseball teams came to play ball. We want to draw visitors to the town and lakes, but the entrances are eyesores. Surely someone in government can do something about this. There must be some sort of building violations being broken.
An ordinance to cut down all cottonwood trees? Is he serious? I am sure there are more important things the city council can do.
