We wonder when the new sewer system gets in operation, if Main street will look less like a natatorium than it generally does after a good shower.
Mrs. Dr. McKone met with quite a painful accident, Tuesday, while coming from the Rock Island depot. A loose board in the sidewalk along the Schoneman property caused her to trip, throwing her on her face cutting quite a gash in the nose, and also bruising one of her limbs, making it necessary to call a cab to convey her home. Some of these days the city council will order all the board walks replaced by permanent sidewalks.

The rural route carriers out from Marion succeeded in getting over their routes pretty well during the recent cold snap considering the great drifts of snow in some places through which they had to go. We believe they all got over most of their routes every day and only one or two patrons were missed.

Easter Sunday comes unusually late this year, April 23rd. This item is for the benefit of the lady readers, as we want them to have plenty of time to get their new millinery.
