The golden grain of Harvest '93 has been pouring in since Saturday. The price is a low $2.60 per bushel, the yield is not as good as expected, but the weight is "great, around 60 pounds" according to the Cooperative Grain and Supply elevator in Marion.

A group of journalists from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania will get a taste of life in the Flint Hills of Kansas July 7 when they visit Jim and Joan Donahue's Clover Cliff Ranch near Elmdale.

Tana Hedstrom, daughter of Bruce and Alona Hedstrom of Lost Springs and Jeff Riffel, son of Hannah Riffel of Tampa and the late Eldred Riffel, were united in marriage May 1 at Hebron Lutheran Church, Burdick.

St. John's Lutheran Church, Lincolnville, has a new pastor. He replaces Pastor Walter Wehmeier, who is retiring after serving St. John's for almost 10 years.

Lanell Hett considers herself a new golfer, learning the game. But she has accomplished what many experience golfers never have. She scored an "ace," a hole-in-one, Monday evening at Marion Country Club.

Willis Herbel, of rural Tampa, has retired from teaching after 33 years of service to the Tampa, Pilsen, and Centre schools.

Students listed on the spring semester honor rolls at the University of Kansas include graduate student Jason Bina, son of Ron and Bev Cooper, senior Robin Summervill, daughter of Mick and Marge Summervill, senior Kristy Herbel, daughter of Ron and Ruth Herbel, and sophomore Lori Tice, daughter of Martin and Margaret Tice, all of Marion.
