Bruce Skiles, D.O., CRNA, started work Jan. 18 at St. Luke Hospital. He replaces Marc Williamson, CRNA, who moved to McPherson. Skiles, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, also is a doctor of chiropractic medicine and will open an office in St. Luke Medical Center in June.
Students listed on the fall honor roll at Kansas State University include the following: Jodie Christiansen and Lance Klein, Durham; Julie Sellers, Florence; Denise Klenda, David Schneider Jr., John Stika, Paul Svoboda, and Michael Svoboda, Lincolnville; and Sheldon Bina and Stephanie Summerville, Marion.
Financially troubled Sears made an announcement Monday that the corporation will restructure, and the decision calls for discontinuing its catalog sales business. This will mean that the Sears Catalog Store in Marion will be closed.
Kristine Bateman has been selected as student of the month by the Marion High School faculty. The senior is the daughter of Jeannine and R.J. Bateman of Marion.
KAKE-TV anchorman Larry Hatteberg spoke Thursday at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet. Following the meeting, Hatteberg autographed copies of his book, "Hatteberg's People." He also chatted with the Rev. Arthur Tonne and Jack and Vernie Beaston of Marion, who are featured in the book which is a compilation of some of the television vignettes he has done over the years.
