Carlsons' Grocery, Marion, will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate their store becoming a member of the Independent Grocers Association (IGA).

Debbi Darrow of Marion has received the Direct Service Provider Award from the Kansas Division for Early Childhood, which works with disabled children from birth to school age. Darrow, who works for Marion County Special Education Cooperative, provides service, and coordinates assistance for families who have children facing delayed development.

Those completing the Marion County 4-H Shooting Air Rifle program consisted of Grant Garrard, Jim Helmer, Joel Thomas, Curtis Gore, Tony Ebaben, Kristin Wilhelm, Andre Ebaben, and Kerrick Wilhelm. Instructors were Wayne Weber and John K. Garrard.

Marion County EMS Director JoAnn Knak received the Lyle Eckhart award April 3 for outstanding work with emergency medical services. The award, presented by the Kansas EMT Association, goes to the one who has made the "highest and overall most substantial contributions to EMS."

Officers elected for the 20th Century Club 1993-1994 year are: Eileen Sieger, president; Shirley Jo Hett, vice president; Earlene Hague, recording secretary; Joyce Richmond, treasurer; and Margaret Pickering, corresponding secretary.
