Final Mass was celebrated Saturday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Tampa, and Sunday in Immaculate Conception Church, Burns. Three churches remain open in Marion County: St. John Nepomucene in Pilsen, St. Mark in Marion, and St. Patrick in Florence.

A reunion of former students and teachers from four former rural schools was held Sunday at the Marion Senior Center. Fifty-one were present for the event. The Adams family served as this year's hosts. The Gutsch family will be in charge next year.

Eighteen members of Sunday School Class 7 of the Aulne United Methodist Church had supper June 8 at Country Dreams. They celebrated the June birthday of Iva Unruh.

The University of Kansas School of Education recently announced the names of more than 765 Kansas teachers honored for long teaching careers. Those from Marion County honored for 25 years of service were Marion Ogden, Marion Unified School District; Ruth Hamm, Centre; and Eileen Butler and Bonnie Friesen, Hillsboro.

A number of area high school graduates have been offered scholarships for 1993-94 at Fort Hays State University. They are Jason May, Theron Nienstedt, and Leon Richmond, Marion; Marty Teufel, Florence; Robin Garrard and Marilyn Svoboda, Lincolnville; James Jirak and Diane Rziha, Tampa; and Ty Klein, Hillsboro.

Richard and Vickie Fine of Florence announce the birth of a daughter, Heather Shanea, on June 12 at St. Luke Hospital.
