The Toronto-Sun, one of the major Canadian newspapers, featured Canada, Kan., as part of a feature on the United States communities named after the northern nation. The article appeared in the June 30 issue.

Nathan Smith, local agent for Shield of Shelter Insurance, presented a check for $878 to Tabor College President Lee Baltzer. The insurance company donates $10,500 annually to District 10 of the NAIA.

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Darrow hosted a "back to school" breakfast on the deck Saturday morning. Guests were the Jim Darrow family, Bill Darrow family, and Betty Mull.

Nancy Bowen of Manhattan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Broadstreet of Marion, has been installed as president of Pilot International, a 19,000 member volunteer service organization.

The Rev. Bill Sherfy is the new pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Marion. Sherfy entered the ministry after retiring from the Air Force.

Benard and Helen Stromberg of rural Florence are proud of the almost two-pound tomatoes raised in their garden. Betty Boy tomatoes have responded well to this summer's wet weather, they say.

A Wardcraft Homes truck from Clay Center hauled a two-bedroom home down Marion's Main Street Friday. The manufactured home, owned by Gale and Susan Cooper, was move to Fourth Street where the family soon will live.
