A class in driving improvement will be offered Sept. 22 and 23 at Eastmoor United Methodist Church. The class is designed for drivers age 50 and older.

High school students from 15 Kansas schools will be honored Sept. 16 by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association at the Kansas Honors Program. Students from Marion include Traci K. Darrow, Micah K. Hanson, Sherry A Lange, and Ashley Loomis. Those from Centre are Diane Rziha and Anjanette Vinduska.

A New York production company is seeking information on Charles Faust, a Marion man who spent a year with the New York Giants baseball team. Anyone with information is asked to contact curator Phyllis Melton at the Marion Historical Museum.

Members of the 1992 Marion High School cross country team are Nathan Warren, Josh Wildin, Pam Kruse, Amanda Janzen, Tony Gilbert, Elly Barta-Moran, Kay Summervill, Kim Kreutziger, Mandy Inlow, Jodi Bernhardt, Jason Goodin, Shane Thrasher, Nick Voelker, Brad Druse, Mark Engler, and Garrett Varenhorst. Rex Wilson is their coach.

Persons interested in preserving class photographs, various trophies, and other memorabilia may want to held fund the effort. Old class photos and both sports and scholastic trophies and plaques have been moved to Marion Historical Museum. The museum is interested in preserving these historic artifacts, but lacks funds.

Melanie Druse of Marion recently graduated from Xenon International School of Hair Design at Wichita. She was honored as valedictorian of her class at ceremonies held Sept. 1. Among those in attendance were many family members and friends, including her children, Matthew, Mitchell, and Kara.
