Marion High School Class of 1962 celebrated its 30th anniversary over the Old Settlers' weekend with a reunion of 30 class members, spouses, and guests.
There will be a community going-away party Sunday honoring Sadie Powell, who will be moving to Arizona in the near future to be closer to family members.
Eric William Vogel was guest of honor Sunday at an early celebration of his first birthday at a party at the home of his parents, Randy and Carol Vogel.
Marion High School girls' cross country team was state champion runner-up Saturday at the Class 3A meet. Team members are Kay Summervill, Amanda Janzen, Jodi Bernhardt, Heather Koop, Pam Kruse (who was second overall), Mandy Inlow, and Kim Kreutziger.
Marion County Home Care Services has a new van, a fire engine red Dodge Caravan. The seven passenger vehicle can carry hospital beds, oxygen bottles, and other equipment needed for home visits, according to Janet Herzet, director. Other staff members pictured as they try out the vehicle are Debbie Bryant, Mary Ann Conyers, Sharon Ewing, and Tierney Fredrickson.
Marion High School FFA chapter officers, Jared Herzet, Kris Groening, Matt Kukuk, Michel Soyez, D.J. Ehlers, and Eileen Hett, placed first overall Oct. 28 in the South Central District parliamentary procedure contest. The team will represent the district at the state parliamentary contest in May.
