Members of the Marion board of education entered two executive sessions with their attorney, D.W. Wheeler, Monday night before making a decision on construction of a new physical education building. The new building will be located adjacent to MES with an enclosed walkway linking the two buildings.
Among College of Education students initiated into Kappa Delta Pi's academic honor society at Kansas State University were the following students from the Marion area: Julie Sellers of Florence, a sophomore in elementary education, and Gary Stuchlik of Lost Springs, a senior in secondary education-math.
Marion Elementary students Quinn Holub, Dusty Sharp, Hallie Bennett, Jessica Moore, Becky Taylor, and Crystal Gillis were finalists in a T-shirt design competition for PAC. The student body voted Nov. 3 to choose one design. Gillis had the winning design which will be available through PAC.
A rendezvous was held on the Dennis Youk farm west of Durham this past weekend by the Smoky Valley Long Rifle and Pistol Club. This is the 20th year for the gatherings by the group which re-enacts the period from about 1750 to 1840.
The Terry Vinduska family hosted a birthday party Sunday for their daughter Jill. Invited guests included Colleen Belton, Erica Hatterman, Cassie Owens, and Sarah Miller. Terry, Cindy, and Melissa took the girls to the show in Salina and enjoyed pizza afterward.
