Diane Hett, who has been serving as City of Marion facilitator for the past two years, was advanced Monday to the newly created job of city administrator. Mayor Jack Regnier said the city has been considering the position for some time, and felt fortunate "in having Diane Hett already on board who is fully qualified by education and experience."
Dean and JoHelen Fincham, who received an invitation and attended the opening of the American Air Museum in England in August, told of their experiences Saturday at the monthly meeting of Chat and Dine Club. The Finchams are among the 60,000 founding members of the museum, which honors the 30,000 American Air Force and Navy aviators who died flying from British soil during World War II.

The 55th wedding anniversary of Leo and Dorothy Scharenberg of Cedar Point will be Jan. 11 and their children and families are requesting a card shower in honor of the occasion.
Terry and Cindy Vinduska and Marlene Goentzel furnished transportation of youth of Holy Family Parish to Leadville, Colo., where they skied. Those from Holy Family Parish included Jill Vinduska, Stephanie Klenda, Arlene Tajchman, Jerry Secrest, Josh Montgomery, Keith Goentzel and Marie Konarik. Groups from Valley and Eastmoor United Methodist churches also participated in the trip.
A $15,500 computer system is in place at Marion City Library. The system tracks materials checked out, runs a computerized card catalog, and automatically updates fines for overdue books.
