County commissioner Linda Peterson met with Marion City Commission Monday afternoon to report information on the latest refuse problems. Peterson said the city officials seemed to agree on several points, mainly things are in a state of confusion.
Marci Penner and her father, Mit Penner, shared their book, "Kansas Weekend Guide 2," with 19 Twentieth Century Club members, Jan 10. The Penners pointed out a number of places they enjoyed visiting and unique spots located in Kansas.
Matt Clymer and Linnea Meek were crowned 1994 winter homecoming king and queen Friday evening during Centre High School's homecoming ceremony. Theme for the evening and dance was "Miss You in a Heartbeat" by popular rock group Def Leppard.
Former Marionite Mike Steinel will be featured during a jazz concert Friday at Hutchinson. Hutchinson Community College will sponsor the University of North Texas Jazz Faculty Quintet at Warner Recital Hall of Stronger Fine Arts Center. Steinel is leader of the quintet.
Anjanette Vinduska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don Vinduska of Lincolnville, has been named to the Dean's Honor list for the fall semester at Benedictine College, Atchison. Vinduska is a freshman majoring in elementary education.
Carla Stovall, candidate for Kansas Attorney General and a Marion County native, will speak at Goessel Elementary School Monday. She will be speaking to the students about the role of an attorney general and the issues she may be facing as well as answering some questions.
DuWayne Suffield, owner of Suffield Heating and Cooling, Marion, has been named a member of the York Heating and Air Conditioning's "League of Superior Achievement." The award is in congratulations for superior sales and service work as a dealer for York products. Suffield received a gold watch with a diamond as a reward in recognition of his superior achievement.
