Walls and rafters for the new Marion Pizza Hut restaurant are going up this week in the industrial park north of U.S.-56.

A $100 cash reward is being offered by the Marion County Record for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for vandalizing the memorial gas lights along the nature trail in Central Park.

Marion High School student LeAnn Hiebert was one of 16 first-time donors Friday during the Red Cross blood drive in Marion.

Charity King, daughter of Larry and Jane King of Marion, has been selected to receive the $600 Catherine Riddle Scholarship. The Marion High School senior plans to attend Emporia State University to major in journalism.

Harvey Sanders was installed Thursday as 1994-95 president of Marion Lions Club. Other officers are Fred Helmer, first vice president; Calvin Ridgeway, second vice president; Larry McLain, third vice president; Jim Christensen, secretary; Mel Honeyfield, treasurer. Officers were installed by Verden Harms of the Hillsboro Lions Club.

The Peabody-Burns High School was the lead band in the Wichita Riverfest Sundown Parade May 6.

Marion High School students attended the Kansas High School day-long Entreprenaurship Conference on campus at Wichita State University. They were Brad Druse, Adam Collett, Christian Vogel, Jon Padgham, Terese Vinduska, Laura Hanes, Gretchen Methvin and teacher Helen Reznicek.
