City of Marion employee Jim Bridges will retire Friday following 12 years of service. The city commission has authorized a public reception honoring Bridges on Thursday.
Construction on the Main/Cedar intersection improvement project on K-256 is nearing completion. The project has caused consternation among area drivers forced to detour through residential neighborhoods since it began in May.
Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Smith recently returned from a 16-day guided tour of the British Isles.
