Marion Manufacturing Company's expanding business is the reason the firm is building an addition to its existing facility, says Jack Richmond, president of the corporation. Construction on a 10,000 square foot addition should begin in late August.

A $400,000 federal grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce will extend water service from the town of Marion to Marion County Lake area residents.

Wayne and Goldie Steeley of Burdick will host an open house at their home July 24. The event will feature their yard of annual and perennial flowers.

Country music star Hank Thompson will headline the Marion County Fair concert Aug. 5 in the fair arena.

Patricia Carroll and Brad Putter, both of Florence, were married June 4 at the Florence Christian Church. Pastor Larry Timm performed the double ring ceremony.

A full-color photo of Marion County Courthouse is featured in the 1993-94 Lutheran Health Systems annual report. The Kansas section includes a photo of St. Luke Hospital and Living Center, an architectural sketch of the completed construction with enclosed courtyard, and a photo of Living Center resident Anne Steiner tending flowers in the courtyard.

Former Marion Cemetery sexton Harry Weibert will be publicly recognized July 28 when a reception in his honor will be held at Marion Municipal Building.

Julie Sellers of Florence has returned from an intensive six-week graduate study program in Cuernabaca, Mexico. Sellers will spend another two years at KSU completing her master's degree studies.
