The hospital board has signed another family practice physician for the staff at St. Luke Hospital. Dr. Kim Hall will begin her practice at St. Luke Medical Clinic in April 1996. She currently is in a residency program at Smoky Hills Family Practice in Salina. Hall will be in Marion September 23 to provide temporary coverage while the hospital's other physicians are out of town.
Sunday found more that 12 people visiting a pasture southeast of Lincolnville to view a rock that had been written on exactly 100 years ago that day. William Wise, then a 16-year-old, used a knife to inscribe the following upon the rock: "William Wise, Lincolnville, Marion County, Aug. 14, 1894, Sold."
Double ring wedding vows were exchanged July 30 in Holy Family Catholic Church, Pilsen, by Melanie Kraus of Marion and Jeremy Dun of Wilmore.
Idaho State University junior John Wheeler is featured in the ISU football media guide this season. Wheeler is a 6-4, 255-pound offensive guard for the Division I-AA Bengals, who compete in the Big Sky Conference.
Traci Darrow and Gabe Higgins have returned from a three-week visit to Berlin, Germany. They were guests of Kai Langnickel, who they had become acquainted with during Kai's visit to Marion as part of the German exchange program the last few years.
Bruce Taylor, formerly of Marion, has been named director of public works for the city of El Dorado. He formerly was with the city of Moore, Oklahoma. Taylor is a graduate of Marion High School and Butler County Community College.
Phoebe Janzen will serve countywide as the coordinator for extended learning with the special education cooperative. She served in the function for six years before spending the last three years as a P.E. teacher at Marion Elementary School.
The golden wedding anniversary of Bob and Gertrude Ray will be celebrated Aug. 7 in the Fellowship Hall of Valley United Methodist Church.
