Light showers didn't stop thousands of people from attending the 15th annual Art in the Park Saturday in Marion's Central Park. Late morning brought sunny skies which accompanied the event for the remainder of the day.

Centre High School seniors Jason Hajek, and Tina Ybarra received homecoming honors from their fellow students Friday just before the Centre-Tescott game.
A number of area businesses will have a booth at the Kansas Sampler Festival Oct. 2-3 near Buhler. Marion businesses represented include The Copper Shed, Marion Mini-Mall, Flint Hills Clay Works, Kingfisher's Inn, Country Dreams Bed and Breakfast, Willie's Woolies, Spring Branch Pottery, and Kraft Korner.
Pam Kruse and Matt Holub, seniors at Marion High School, were crowned in the homecoming ceremonies Friday during half-time of the Marion-Sacred Heart football game. They were elected by a vote of the student body.
Students from several Kansas high schools will be recognized as Kansas Honor Scholars tonight, Wednesday, by the University of Kansas Alumni Association and the KU Endowment Association. Students from Marion are Elly Barta-Moran, Hannah Bennett, and LeAnn Hiebert.
