The 1948 graduating class of Marion High School celebrated its 45th anniversary over the Old Settlers' Day Weekend. There were 44 members of the class with 26 attending all or part of the festivities. Six are deceased.
Members of the Marion High School graduating class of 1933 held their 60-year reunion Sept. 24 at the Stone City Café. Reservations were made by Mr. and Mrs. Roger Morse, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hett, Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Siebert, Phyllis (Williamson) Melton, Gladys (Olsen) Fenske, Genevieve (Bailey) Broadstreet, and Clifton Meisinger of Marion, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sleepy of Newton, and Alvin Kreutziger and Sara Jane (Repel) Nickel of Hillsboro.
Members of the Class of 1943, Marion High School, met during the Old Settlers' Day weekend to observe the golden anniversary of their graduation. Of the 30 living members, 24 were present and three sent letters. Those present were Harry Penland, Dean Morgan, Jack Summerville, Peggy (Gerstenkorn) Summerville, Anna Belle (Rees) Baker, Mary Alice (Rees) Parmley, Betty (Mersereau) Childs, Joan (Wight) Meyer, Jean (Knight) Pierce, Elva (Heidel) Unruh, Florence Irene (King) Gimson, Evelyn (Vogel) Anderson, Helen (Stenzel) Chill, Virginia (Ayler) Bowers, Lucille (Stenzel) Collier, Betty (Knacktedt) Slusser, Betty (Frazier) Thompson, Doris (Hutchens) Herpich, Mary Ann (Barrett) Timm, Wilma (Smithheisler) Pearce, Allen Pankratz, Ralph Johnston, Harold Woerz, Douglas McGinness, Orris McKibbin, and Georgia (Vogel) Whiteman.
