In a bold move showing confidence in the economic future of Marion County, officer and directors of Central National Bank Marion County approved contracts Thursday to more than double the size of their banking facility in downtown Marion.
Janet Longhofer presented five Marion High School students from her creative writing class at the Nov. 21 PEO meeting. Students who entertained with their writings were Gabrielle Longhofer, Jodi Smith, Jon Padgham, Jesse Bowers, and Mark Engler.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Keazer were in Topeka Sunday to attend the 50th wedding anniversary celebration of his sister and husband, Lois and Byron Patton. Jeanne Keazer of Concordia accompanied her parents to Topeka.
Members of the Marion High School class of 1949 gathered for their 45th year reunion during Old Settlers' weekend. Those present were Joan (Bell) Klenke, Claudine (Dody) Johnson, Jean (Muse) Hein, Bob Reinke, Dorothy (McCarty) Stubby, Madeline (Penland) Crosley, Lois (Kelsey) Pracht, John Parks, Dennis Youk, Bob Hein, Betty (Fox) Duerksen, Harold Wayne Klein, Lucy (Sandwell) Janzen, Ken Sly, Keith Mueller, and Jack Adams.
Verona Mullikin, a resident of St. Luke Living Center, will observe her 90th birthday Dec. 10 and her family is requesting a card shower in honor of the occasion. Also, family members will be hosting an open house at the center from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 10.
Amy Christensen's birthday was celebrated Nov. 20 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Christensen.
