More than 265 people attended the community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Over $1,100 was donated to Marion Ministerial Alliance helping hands fund by those attending.
Marion Chamber of Commerce sponsored buggy rides Sunday for those who were shopping during Marion's annual Christmas opening. Children and adults kept Jon Johnson of El Dorado busy driving his attractive white buggy with gold trim during the balmy Indian Summer afternoon.
Bill and Teresa Higgins reaffirmed their marriage vows Nov. 22 in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary. The ceremony and a reception were held at Valley United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lance Carrithers officiating.

Terry Nichols is being tried in Denver as a co-conspirator in the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19, 1995. Tim Donahue, a partner in the Donahue Ranch operation, where Nichols was employed for six months, has been called as a prime witness in the trial and testified.
