Sunflower Building crews were busy Monday at Marion County Courthouse, preparing for several months of work to make the courthouse fully accessible.

Andy Rohrback, a University of Kansas student, has joined the Marion County Record staff as a summer intern. Rohrback is a native of Andover.

A Cessna Skywagon, carrying two passengers from Granbury, Texas, en route to Alaska, was forced to make an emergency landing on the rough waters of the reservoir just before noon Monday when the fuel selector valve on the plane failed.

The wedding of Tracy Lynn Zimmerman and Shad Wayne Winter was solemnized May 4 at Zion Lutheran Church, Doylestown, Ohio. Both the bride and groom are serving in the United States Air Force. Winter is the son of Earl and Joan Winter of Marion.

Fifteen students were recognized at the Marion High School Commencement Sunday for maintaining a 3.5 grade point average for all four years. They were Jodi Bernhardt, Catherine Blount, Jesse Bowers, Eric Byer, Mattie Christiansen, Joshua Cooper, Austin Gilbert, Ethan Good, Jason Goodin, Jenny Groening, Kimberly Hajek, Rachel Janzen, Charles Maggard II, Brett Sardou, and Jodi Thomas.

Mitch Merrill, grandson of Gail Merrill of Marion, has been selected as the 181st member of The Professional Golfers' Association of America to be named a "master professional." Merrill is the head professional at Sioux City, Iowa, Country Club.

Centre High School students named to the National Honor Society are Lucas Carlson, David Rziha, Fred Silhan, and Emily Belton.
