St. Luke Hospital rates will be increased Jan. 1 due to the 35 cent per hour raise in the minimum wage. Tom Evert, hospital administrator, said the rates would go from $60 daily for semi-private rooms to $68 and from $65 to $74 for private rooms.

DuWayne Suffield of Lincolnville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Suffield, is 11 and a sixth grader at Centre Elementary School. He recently appeared at the Judge Riggs Club in the Hilton Inn at Wichita where he closed the floor show for a band called "Bunch-O-Fun" by playing a trap drum solo. The band has played for singers Kris Kristofferson, Rita Collidge, Brenda Lee, and others.

Hannaford Abstract Company had its annual Christmas party Monday evening at Kingfisher's Inn. Those present were Mrs. Roger W. Hannaford, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Hannaford, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Good, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hoover, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Goering, Mrs. Dennis Seifert, Roger Hannaford III, and Gayle Hannaford.

It's a "whole new ball game" at the Marion County Record office this week. New video display terminals are causing staff writers to learn new skills. The new terminals are the first installation in Kansas of VDTs with self-contained floppy discs.

Dear Santa: Hi! How are you, Toy Boy, and your reindeer? I am fine. Here is my list of things I want for Christmas: a saddle, saddle pad, saddle blanket, bridle, halter, new 64 crayons, ice skates, roller skates, new notebook, new clipboard, books, electric pencil sharpener, and a bag of apples for my horses, Beauty and Tony.
