The City of Marion this week signed a contract for construction of the new cable television system. Representatives of Ranson and Cox, Wichita bond house, were present at the Monday afternoon session for the contract signing. Completion of the project is expected this spring.
Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Reznicek, Ottawa, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Judith Ann, to Louis W. Wegerer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wegerer, Marion.
Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Wildin, Marion, announce the arrival of their son, Joshua Wade, on Jan. 6 at Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Newton. Joshua weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and is their first child.
The Earl Wineinger home, less than a mile south of Marion County Lake, burned to the ground early Wednesday morning. The only possessions saved from the two-story frame building were a few items that were downstairs. Wineinger is the Marion High School vocational agriculture instructor.
Tim Kramer, Steve Waner, Mike Fredrickson, and Kay and Jeff Williams were guests at a bowling party Monday honoring Doug Williams' birthday. Mike was an overnight guest at the Williams home.
The annual Tampa High School alumni banquet was held Dec. 30 at the Catholic Hall in Tampa. There were 116 present. The class of 1927 held its 50th anniversary reunion with four members in attendance.
Terri Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Robinson of Florence, has earned her first stripe in her career in the U.S. Air Force. A graduate of Marion High School, she is stationed at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas.
The birthday of Mrs. Henry Regier was celebrated Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Popp and family. Others present were Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Loewen and family of Peabody, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Regier and girls, Mr. and Mrs. Wes Regier, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Regier, and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Christensen and family.
