Joseph W. Brigman, 21, a Fort Riley soldier, has been charged with two counts of first degree murder in connection with a double homicide Aug. 29 near Tampa. He is accused in the shooting deaths of Dennis Armstrong, 31, and his wife Evelyn, 28, at their farm home northwest of Tampa.

Ticket sales are in progress for Marion Community Arts Council's dinner theatre the evening of Feb. 18. An old-fashioned boarding house decor will set the scene. Margaret May, Celia Byer, Linda Ogden, Barbara Abbott, Jean Long, and Louise Colburn will created the quaint atmosphere.

Julie Oborny, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Oborny of Marion, and Connie Kerbs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Kerbs of Tampa, have been elected to the Brown Mackie College student senate for the 1978 school year.

The Wildkittens, girls basketball team at Florence Middle School, defeated Berean Academy 22-15 Thursday afternoon. Seven FMS girls shared scoring honors. Jami Shirley, Loraine Wiens, Amy Hett, and Sherry Snelling had four points each while Loreen Wiens, Mary Medina, and Kris Kelsey each had two points.

Judith Ann Reznicek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Reznicek, and Louis Wegerer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wegerer, exchanged double ring marriage vows Jan. 21 in a ceremony at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen.

Ronald Kelsey, custodian at the post office, was injured Feb. 1 in the early morning while cleaning the parking lot of snow. In an effort to prevent a fall on the ice, his hand became lodged in the fan of a snow blower and he lost a portion of two fingers on his right hand.

Perfect weather for snow sculptures resulted in a number of ingenious creations in the Marion area. One humorous and skillful example may be seen in front of the Charles Heerey residence. Doug and Cindy Heerey created the scene which includes a dog house and snowman with a dog on a leash.
