Ticket sales are in full swing for the PRIDE Pacemaker banquet March 10. After the meal, those attending will have the privilege of hearing Gov. Robert Bennett speak, as well as Dr. Roger Mitchell, vice president for agriculture from Kansas State University, Edward Bruske, secretary of the Kansas Department of Economic Development, and others.

The Florence Alumni Association is planning a banquet and dance in the spring. Theme will be "Happy Days." The banquet will be catered by Ballinger's of Augusta.

Two Marion Kiwanians, Roger Hannaford and Gerry Harris, have been selected to serve on the statewide board of directors of the Kansas Kiwanis Foundation.

Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Kreutziger, rural Marion, announce the engagement of their daughter Debbie to Steve Wilkens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wilkens of Dighton. A May 27 wedding is planned.

Fourteen members of the Marionettes camping group and one guest, Mrs. Bill Holmes, completed the CPR course Saturday night in the basement of the Marion City Building. Harvey Sanders, headed the two evening, four-hour classes, assisted by Ed Sandwell, Bill Holmes, and Gene Winkler. Members who completed the course were Jack and Doris Bowyer, Jessie Bowers, Henry and Ethel Collett, Dean, Joyce, and Kim Duke, Ralph and Velma Mathews, Norman and Rosie Plenert, and Junior and Lucille Bredemeier. Harold Bowers took the course earlier in the week.

Kevin Marler was two years old on Feb. 28 and was guest of honor at two parties in celebration of the event. Kevin's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Doug Marler, hosted the first party at their home on Sunday. Kevin was honored again Wednesday evening at a party at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Marler.

Lynley Gutsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gutsch, Lincolnville, was elected president at a district meeting of District C of FFA/HERO Feb. 22 at Herington.
