Sue Henke, a native of Lost Springs, has been promoted to the position of supervisor of public information for the Kansas Power and Light Company. She has been employed as editor of company publications for four and one-half years. Henke is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elden Henke of Lost Springs.

St. Mark's CYO participated in the DCYO volleyball tournament for Region III Sunday at Christ the King's gym in Wichita and finished fifth out of the six teams participating. Players consisted of Jay Smith, Kevin Jirak, Doug Heerey, Doug Webb, Darrell Waner, Jamie Richmond, Debbie Vinduska, and Becky Vinduska. Doug Marler is coach of the group.

Lester Griffith, well known and highly regarded Marion County Agricultural Agent and director of the Marion County Extension Council, has announced he will take early retirement this spring. He expects to retire from his position in April and become actively involved in operation of family farming interest in Pawnee County. The family will continue to live in Marion.

Ralph W. Janzen, serviceman for Lynn's Truck and Tractor of Marion, has completed a week-long training program at Sperry New Holland Training School at Lenexa.

Danny Snelling, Chris Jost, and Tim Christensen returned Saturday morning after spending last week skiing in Keystone, Colo. While it was raining, sleeting, and snowing here, they were skiing in their T-shirts.

The Singspirationals (Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Just, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Leppke, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Delk) spent the weekend in Liberal where they sang at the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

A group of 24 of George and Charlene Svitak's Polka Pals enjoyed an eight-day trip to Hawaii. They report it was zero when they left here and 84 degrees in Hawaii.

Patti Vinduska, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Vinduska, has received a bachelor of art in education degree from the University of Kansas.
