Mark Rathert, a native of Marion, has been named project coordinator during construction of the new 36-hole golf course that will be a part of the $88.8 million resort proposed 85 miles south of Wichita on the Kaw Reservoir. Mark is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F.J. Rathert of Marion. He is a 1971 graduate of Marion High School and holds an engineering degree from Kansas State University.

Max Herzet, formerly of Marion, recently was the subject of a feature article in "The Compass," magazine published for Mid-Kansas Savers Club of Wichita. Herzet is vice president of Mid-Kansas Federal Savings and Loan. He has been with the association since the early 1950s.

Marion people will be able to see, Friday or Saturday, the longest-running musical of all the Broadway hits when "Fiddler on the Roof" will be staged by Marion High School music department at Marion Municipal Auditorium. Players with leading roles are Jerry Elmore, Molly Ferrell, Colene Wiebe, Randy Just, Lori Harris, Bill Hoch, Linda Schaffer, Greg Boyle, Sandy Bridges, and Mike Fruechting.

Celia Byer was guest of honor at a layette shower Saturday in the fellowship hall of Valley United Methodist Church. Hostesses were Mary Longhofer, Linda Ogden, Margaret Wilson, Vernie Beaston, and Jean Pierce.

Durham High School Class of '64 held a reunion Saturday evening at the Holiday Manor in McPherson. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Base, Smolan; Mr. and Mrs. Ken Goentzel, Delton, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. N.M. Patton, Peabody; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Tajchman and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Tajchman, Lincolnville; Mr. and Mrs. Junior Russell, Galva; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Wedel, Tampa; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Weibert, Oberlin; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klein, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Meier, and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Frantz, Durham.
