An attentive crowd of over 100 gathered in the district courtroom of the Marion County Courthouse in Marion Thursday afternoon to hear and question Congressman Dan Glickman in his second of a series of "town hall" type public meetings.
Rev. and Mrs. Elton Kirstein, Stafford, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jeannie, to Ed Hett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John D. Hett, Marion. The wedding is planned for Dec. 30.
Marion received good publicity last week. Senator Jim Pearson ran a photo of the Marion city commissioners in his newsletter and the Judge Riggs Club at Wichita used a photo in its newsletter showing the late judge's tombstone in Marion Cemetery.
Keith Collett left Sunday evening for Exeter, England, to attend a baroque music seminar. He will return in August.
Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Marler of Marion announce the engagement of their daughter, Sandra Kay, to Dale Lee Clemmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Clemmer, Tampa. An October 22 wedding is planned.
Lt. and Mrs. Ron Carpenter and Alison Marie are visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pankratz. They are en route from the Moroccan Air Base at Kenitra, Morocco, where they have been for the past two years, to his new assignment at the Marine Corps Air Station, El Toro, Calif.
Jane Ann Vinduska and Rodney Ray Niederwerder exchanged marriage vows June 18 in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Pilsen. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Florian Vinduska, rural Marion.
The Wiebe family singers, John, Caryl, Colene, and Jon, presented a musical program of gospel songs and hymns at the Marion Senior Citizens Tuesday evening potluck supper. The family has been singing together for a number of years. (Dorene, a college age daughter was unable to attend.)
