The teacher's association of Marion and Florence schools has sued the board of education. In the specifications, the association said that there had been no agreement reached last winter and spring, when it represented the teachers in negotiating with the board.

Double ring marriage vows were exchanged Aug. 20 by Mary Lou Bowers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Bowers, and Rick Just, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Just.

Mayors from the area will be riding in the community night parade at Emporia State University Sept. 24. Mayors Peggy Blackman of Marion, Roger McCallum of Elmdale, and Tod Porter of Peabody will be among those featured. Twenty-three mayors will be recognized at half-time of the E. State vs. Central Missouri State football game.

Leo Bezdek, son of Louise Bezdek of Tampa, has accepted a position with Delta Airlines as a pilot. He recently completed two months of training at the Delta center in Atlanta Ga., and now is based at O'Hare Airport in Chicago. He is a second officer (engineer) aboard a Boeing 727 jet.

Gary Ehrlich, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ehrlich of Marion, won the championship of the Shorthorn breed at Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson this week.

Debbie Enos of Marion, a senior at McPherson College, was one of two students to win a $400 grant for the current school year. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Enos, Debbie won the award for her ability as an artist. Selection is based on original art work.

Mr. and Mrs. Doug Marler took Donita Makovec, Jamie Richmond, Sherri Kelly, Becky Vinduska, Debbie Vinduska, and Jackie Richmond of St. Mark's CYO to Ost Sunday where they met at St. John's Catholic Church, along with officers of Regions III and IV, to have installation of officers
