The appointment of Ronald J. Cork as administrator of St. Luke Hospital and nursing wing has been announced by Robert A Anderson, chief executive officer of Lutheran Hospitals and Home Society of America. Cork will assume the position which has been held by Eunice Christensen, who has been serving as acting supervisor since Tom Evert left in October.
Marion was the starting and stopping point for a two-day PRIDE Motor Coach Tour that took 36 interested people to the southeast corner of Kansas over Friday and Saturday.

Edwin M. Wheeler Jr. has been selected as the Marion County Bar Association 1979 Law Day coordinator. He will coordinate area activities for the annual Law Day USA observance May 1.
Florence Christian Women's Temperance Union has announced winners in the group's junior high essay contest. Janet Hett, Peabody, won first prize of $5, Rochelle Mueller, Marion, won second prize of $3, and Marty Kroupa, Marion, won third prize of $2. Hett's essay will be entered in state competition.
An honor banquet was held at Mid-America Nursing Center Monday afternoon, with awards presented. A five-year pin went to Bertha Vogel and three-year pins to Emma Douglas and Blanche Cowan. Barbara Svoboda, Berneda Beneke, Sharon Pankratz, Carmelita Hurtado, Sandy Tajchman and Carol Wituk received nurse aid certificates.
