Plans for the new Marion National Bank building were presented for approval Monday afternoon at the regular meeting of the Marion City Commission. It will be built at the present location, Main at North Third. Gene Bullinger of Pettit and Bullinger, architects, from Wichita was introduced by Matthew Classen, president of the bank.
A Lincolnville business sponsored an Easter egg hunt Sunday. Children participating in the hunt were given half dollars, Easter baskets and toy rabbits. Those receiving the gifts were James McDonald, Kim Smith, Susie Svoboda, Lisa Biehler, Kelly Melcher, Lynette Biehler, Bryan and Brad Pagenkopf, Jill Herman, Kerry Bowman, Laurie Bina, Terry Olsen, Troy Peterson and Shannon Mills.
Rosella Plenert, student at Emporia State University, spent the Easter weekend in Mexico City as part of the a cappella choir that took part in the Mexico City Collegiate Choral Festival from Thursday through Sunday.
Durham Elementary School will close in 1980. The Hillsboro USD 410 board of education has voted to close the attendance center — where grades 1 through 4 and 7 and 8 have been taught — after the 1979 school year.
Trent Crissup of Cedar Point and his group, the "Swingin' Country" were winners of the Ozark Jubilee contest held in Springfield, Mo. Trent is leader of the band.
Marvin Meisinger has enrolled his herd of Herefords in the Total Performance Records program of the American Hereford Association.
